Share the kitchen with China's top chefs

China's most renowned chefs teach our two-week intensive cooking courses at the Sichuan Higher Institute of Cuisine in Chengdu, imparting years of culinary experience and insight. Bring a sense of adventure to the kitchen as you learn to prepare Sichuan dishes with complex flavors and explosive spices in a highly professional environment.

The Sichuan Institute designed the program to give the highlights of Sichuan cuisine in a condensed course. You and your fellow food-loving travelers will prepare Sichuanese dishes and snacks, like spicy Zhong dumplings and Gong Bao chicken with peanuts. You'll learn to wield a Chinese cleaver with confidence, control the heat of a wok, and tease out the famously complex Sichuan flavors-like numbing-hot and fish-fragrant-from the freshest raw ingredients.

What makes our program the top rated culinary travel experience in China

In addition to our setting at the highly competitive Sichuan Higher Institute, our program includes festive group dinners and visits to Sichuan food markets and the Panda Breeding and Research Center nearby. Furthermore, you'll be following in the footsteps of former student and Sichuan food expert Fuchsia Dunlop, author of award-winning cookbooks and the very funny memoir "Sharkfin Soup and Sichuan Peppercorn."

We're situated in the heart of Chengdu, and there is no better setting in which to get a true feel for Sichuan cuisine. You'll depart with great travel memories and new friends who share your passion for Sichuan food, in addition to cooking skill
